We are currently seeking a free-lance local-SF/Bay Area Web Developer/Designer/Programmer to build a User Interface website. We are looking for someone local in the SF/Bay Area who can meet face to face prior to the start of the site.
Web Developer/Designer/Programmer to design and develop the site both front and back end. The design process must balance technical functionality and visual elements to create a website that is not only operational but also usable and adaptable to changing user needs.
Developer/Designer/Programmer shall specialize in HTML/CSS/Javascript/MYSQL/Proficient with Rails and adding SMS text messaging and email notification functionality to the website. Experience with designing a site from start to finish is a must.
Work will be done remotely. We are looking for someone local who can meet face to face prior to the start of the site. We will ask you to sign a NDA prior to going over the specifications.

Requirements:
You should have outstanding analytical and programming skills, with a deep understanding of Java application development and SQL coding. You place a high value on automated testing and have experience using test frameworks such as JUnit.
- Minimum 3-5+ years professional experience.
- Significant experience developing object-oriented software in Java
- Expert level experience developing software for deployment on Linux/Unix.
- Expert level experience working with Apache with Jetty or Tomcat.
- Experience working with back-end databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL), and with SQL coding.
- Significant experience unit testing with frameworks such as JUnit.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Plus Requirements:
- Technically strong using any of the following: JavaScript, JQuery, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, XML-RPC, JSON, Python/Jython.
- Significant experience developing web applications.
- Experience developing software for consumer devices such as mobile phones, game consoles, or set-top boxes.
- Well-versed in highly scalable solutions in data storage, analysis and reporting for multi-terabyte data sets.
- Knowledge of data-intensive, no-SQL architectures (e.g. Hadoop, HDFS, Hive) and Map-Reduce concepts.
- Experience providing streaming media direct to consumers.
- BA/BS or better in Computer Science or a related field.
